i mean, you are right, it IS
i mean, you are right, it IS six minutes and thirty five minutes long. i was kicking myself for allowing it to be so long. watching this video over, i keep thinking to myself "god this is so long", but i don't know what to chop out of it! do you have any portions you think it could do with out? what are the strong points of it i should keep? what length do you think would be good for a video like this?
on the other hand, people really seemed to like this one, a total stranger to me saying on facebook "like isn't strong enough of a button for that youtube vid. best 6:35 of my day", and over the weekend + monday we've received like 82 dollars in donations, with a large chunk of that coming from a person i don't know very well referencing that video.
so, i dunno. i would call this video a success, but i want to try to make future videos four minutes or less. next time i make a video and can't shorten it, do you want to watch it and annotate parts of it that i could do with out?

yeah. one of the thing that gets me about them is that the camera is static. I know most of them are not scripted, and it's more or less you or whomever stream-of-consciousness-ing all over the place (which you're very good at and IS the charm of these videos) but it wouldn't hurt to get some things from different angles every now and then. (think a pan of the CTA with a woman's lovely hands caressing the toggles or something while you're talking about it). maybe make a short story board first?
