So in my wanderings about the internet, I ran into Jim Carrey's web page. This is not what you would really imagine it to be. It takes like a minute for it to even load, and that minute is spent wondering wtf is about to happen. Then the melancholic melody begins, and the page opens. It's just, not really what I expected at all. It took me a few minutes to just deal with the front page, and figuring out how to actually navigate was a learning experience.
I looked at his photos on various trips to Europe and about his usual places. I roamed around, peeling back layer after layer of this somewhat disturbing website, with the ever present music. Eventually, I stumbled upon a link to his Youtube channel. I watched the first video:
I'm not sure we really, as a society, gave Jim Carrey enough credit.
We thought he was funny, sure, but I don't think anybody actually gave a shit about him. We used him, gave him dump trucks full of money and made him act like an idiot in movies for our amusement. Terrible movies! The only movie Jim Carrey was in that I think I can rewatch and look back on pride at the fact I thought it was a good movie, was, of course, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". And even, when I watched that movie in the theatres when it came out, the entire audience was laughing, rolling in the isles at Jim Carrey, which seemed at the time to be really inappropriate. People just EXPECTED him to be some sort of a clown, that they laughed at things not because they were genuinely funny, but because Jim Carrey made a slightly silly face, fulfilling his clown role.
For a long time, all of the movies he did seemed depraved, corporately manufactured, terrible, worthless movies, that at their best had a few hilarious moments. Oh actually there was the Truman Show too, that was halfway decent. But most of the crap he was in was mostly like this:

And look now, that video above has under 97,000 views. That's crazy. Texarrakis has had about 20,000 visits in it's entire history, and this video, which Carrey uploaded himself has under 97,000?
COME ON PEOPLE.

I would not contest your esteemed and articulate analysis of such substance, but certainly believe the Flash issue, and the issue of APPROPRIATE AND TASTEFUL USE OF PROPRIETARY MEDIA PLUGINS ON WEB PAGES, are not incosequential to a comprehensive and well-balanced treatment of the subject. Speak for yourself leave the "We" out of it next time. I love all his movies and his site has is awesome and won the webby awards. Maybe you didn't know he had a youtube channel cause you are dumb.

well movies aside, i did like his webpage. but the point i was making about his youtube channel, it can't just be because i am dumb; it has only been viewed 129,000 times. on the planet. that is a really pitiful amount.

yea but I think its cause the channel barely gets updated. 3 videos in 2 years is not enough. His company are the ones that run it and there is a huge waiting line of people waiting for friendship from the channel cause his people only sign in like once every six months to accept the invites. I oove his YT channel but it needs to be updated more often
