WELCOME TO:
THE GLOBAL WEIRDING EFFECT

THIS IS AN INTRODUCTION

I HAVE CHANGED THE NAME OF THIS BLOG. It used to be called The Last of the Meketrex Supplicants. Now it is not, as of like ten minutes ago. The change is because, well the last name was always meant to be used on a temporary basis. You know, until I figured out what I should really call it. The last of the meketrex supplicants, while a clever and esoteric Ghostbuster's reference,

During the rectification of the Vuldronaii the Traveler came as a large, moving Torb! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants they chose a new form for him; that of a giant Sloar! Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day, I can tell you!

It is, in the end, absolutely meaningless to this blog or this site as a title, and in the end just sounds like gibberish. However, I am going to keep it as the title of my horrible one musician band, that I keep up on Myspace for some reason. I've embedded the music player at the bottom of this page, so you don't actually have to go to Myspace. Listen to the song Sackcloth; I think then you will have a better appreciation of my particular affinity to the phrase "Last of the Meketrex Supplicants".

Furthermore, I am going to attempt to use "last of the meketrex supplicants" in my normal, everyday blog speech. Maybe as a euphemism for 9/11, or something. I'll figure that out in due time.

Ok, I'm glad to have gotten that out of the way. I've been planning this change for some time and feel guilty I haven't told anyone. I've decided that I am going to name this blog THE GLOBAL WEIRDING EFFECT. Because, in case you haven't noticed, that is really what this blog is about. THE GLOBAL WEIRDING EFFECT. And I don't just mean global warming, although that is a significant aspect of our planet's general weirding trend.

Also, in case you are wondering, I do know that the GLOBAL WEIRDING effect is actually a term created by various scientists or something to more accurately describe climate change, but I don't care. It's not catching on in that capacity, so I will use it in a more expansive context.

But of course I'll write about anything I want here. I consider feeling motivated to spend hours writing a meaningless review about the only video game I play as part of the general, mysterious effect, of global weirding. Also, I have ten years of backlogged Livejournal entries on here, stretching back from 10 years ago, that I have migrated to this site. You might find other, past articles to be of interest.

As for a bit of disambiguation, even though this blog is really the only thing happening on TEXARRAKIS, it is not TEXARRAKIS. At this point, it is more analogous to a subsidiary of TEXARRAKIS, hosted by THE TEXARRAKIS PROJECT.

At any rate, my name is Gene, and this is my journal.

This is,

THE GLOBAL WEIRDING EFFECT

 the cerebellum

whenever i read about human anatomy, and especially the brain, i get very uneasy. at some point, in the future, i would like to install some kind of steel protective armor in my skull to avoid anything ever happening to my brain. 3rd shift is finally beginning to grate on my soul. too often i feel completely isolated from my roommates and friends, leading to terrible and awkward situations which are of no fault but my own. however, since they fired some people from the morning shift for completely absurd reasons (absurd, at least, by my own moral standards and not by evil and orwellian corporate standards), and a lot of morning positions are open. i may apply to one of these, or inquire about a 2nd shift job, or a courier job (driving specimens around from hospitals and small medical practices in all of new england), or even inquire about taking phlebotomist classes, where i will learn to draw blood and make upwards of $50 an hour doing it. i would rather not leave the big Q, not because i really like the company, but because they like to pay me money, and i like saving up money for things like:

there's a new screen name for me, because i'm sick of my old one. i can be reached at shuvs and zuuls. i think i will work on my webpage more. it's still at http://genemachine.net -OR- http://genemachine.org, although i do not feel it is quite intensive and content filled enough to justify publicizing it in a more massive and widespread way quite yet. i converted twenty dollars into a dvd, which has just arrived. i am slowly building myself a new, very selective dvd collection which i intent to keep great care of. it consists of now,

most movies i can just download off the internet as if it were having a piece of cake hand fed to me by a nurse, so it will only consist of movies i consider obscure enough or awesome enough worth actually owning as physical things i can show people and be proud of. i am so materialistic also i want you to know i love you all and read all of your posts every day as if it were some kind of weird ongoing novel! it is almost dystopian! EDIT: i just realized how upset i always am when ernie hudson (winston) is not a featured actor, as he is one of the best ghostbusters

legal eagles

Dec
03
2001

today, i woke up at 3:30, after drifting in and out of sleep since about 9 am. i woke up, and did some fairly uneventful things.

i ate some honey bunches of oats. i watched two movies on wlvi. poltergeist, which was good, and some movie called "legal eagles" by ivan reitman. ivan reitman is the same guy who directed ghostbusters, and the movie included all sorts of top notch actors, like robert redford, donald sutherland, chancellor velorum, sarah winger, and brian dennehy, so i was fairly excited at first.

but then, the movie turned out to be the biggest piece of crap i have ever seen. they had a lot of the same exact exteriors which were used in ghostbusters thuogh, and that was the only redeeming quality of the movie. later that night i watched the prince of egypt, which was also fairly good. the singing ruined a few scenes though. just as things were getting dramatic, they'd start to sing, i hated it. later, i talked to hed on the phone for 70 minutes, and drank some coffee which i reheated. it had been brewed yesterday morning.

it wasn't a bad day.
