the vermillion block 380 - the newest exploded oil rig

Alright, just as the last catastrophic oil spill is wrapping up, BAM. As if oil rig disasters are something fate thinks we want or need.

This time around, it's two hundred miles west of the site of now blown up Deepwater Horizon oil rig. This newly exploded oil rig (the Vermillion Block 380), is in much shallower water (340 feet vs 5000), which will make for easier clean up methods. Also, all of the rig workers survived this time around. According to U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Elizabeth Bordelon, the oil sheen coming from the rig is only 1 miles x 100 feet. She doesn't know where it's coming from though, since the newly exploded oil rig wasn't even producing oil yet.

Anyway, the culprit this time around isn't BP, but Mariner Energy.

i was leaning back on my chair today, when all of a sudden sparks started flying all around me, shooting from the bottom of the chair. i lept out of my seat, and looked down, to see a small fire next to the chair, which i quickly stomped out. it seems as if the foot of my chair had been digging into the electrical cord of my radiator, and dug in so far that it peirced through the insulation and to the wire.
