Love + Robotics = Lovotics, made by creating an artificial endocrine system

Soon, users won't just really like their devices, they'll be in love with them. And their devices will love with them back.

mimicking the human endocrine and hormone system

The human endocrine system is imitated, and artificial hormones are released, allowing the robot to actually feel emotion, or at least a close approximation to it. The robot is programmed to need certain inputs, to interpret facial and verbal emotive cues from humans, and is never really satisfied and truly happy unless you are petting it. It is then able to display its emotions, through a series of twirls and bobbles, and can combine actions and emotions to display a complex array of emotions. Even, jealousy. THIS, seems to be a breakthrough in artificial intelligence.

the range of combinable emotions and behaviors

And because of this robots genuine, or almost genuine ability to love and be sad or afraid, humans actually find themselves falling in love back with it, as if it were a dog or a cat. Currently, the lovotic robot looks like a little tribble blob that vibrates and whirs and makes delightful robotic lovotic love sounds. Watch this video for a fuller explanation:

But, I don't think there's any reason this will stay limited solely to the world of robots that move around autonomously. Eventually, this could be applied to virtually any device out there, from iPhones to military drones to cars to sexualized android lovers.

120 ex-military personnel testify that UFOs have compromised and intervened at US nuclear missile sites

EDIT: I have embedded the 9/27/10 press conference on a new blog post, which you can access by clicking on this clickable text.

First off, I must warn you that Bill Nye the Science Guy ultimately plays a role in all of this.

Secondly, I must also state to the reader that I am in no way someone that believes UFOS are extraterrestrial visitors from the cosmos. If they are not hoaxes, secret military test flights, or natural phenomena, then they are human time-travelers from the future. Perhaps saving us from ourselves to assure their continued future existence, filling their role in a time loop. Or perhaps just curious. Or both. I don't really believe that either. But if it can't be explained by conventional means, that seems more likely then aliens like this:

an alien on a hill

Of course maybe that's just what a human looks like in the future. I don't know. This isn't the point of this post at all. I just wanted to firmly establish that you're not reading a crazy blog about UFOs. Well maybe you are. We even have a UFO in our logo, uhm. I don't know anymore.

Regardless of all that, I found it pretty interesting that 120 military personnel are coming out of the "unidentified flying objects have been visiting and intervening at nuclear weapons sites for years and is still ongoing" closet. What the hell? Really?

Yes, this is really happening. I found out about it in a Reuters article, so it must (probably? (maybe???)) bear some credibility. But hold on, who are the 120 military personnel?

The most vocal (I keep seeing him being quoted in various articles) is Bob Salas, a retired USAF Captain. He has really been around the media circles on the subject of UFOS. He is, straight up, one of those UFO people. This story I'm reporting on right now; it's been around a while. I guess Bob Salas is trying to jump start this story again, by announcing a press conference to take place on the 9/27/10, presumably because now he has 119 other people to side with his story.

Want to learn more? Great. Because I have procured a four part YouTube video for you. It's a lopsided debate on this very subject by UFO investigator Bill Hastings, Former Air Force Official Bill Jameson, Former USAF 1st Lieutenant Dr. Bob Jenkins, Former USAF Captain Bob Salas, against none other then Bill Nye the Science Guy:

This video is pretty amazing to watch. It is like watching the evolution of one aspect of human understanding take place in a visual vortex that gets stronger and stronger and faster and faster as time moves along. An ever increasing pattern of knoweldge. Or something.

The data used to create this video is publicly available here.

Hat tip goes to geekosystem for this video.
